Blankenship Wins High Jump at HSU Meet; 3 Athlete Compete

ABILENE, Texas – Competing at the place where the 2014 American Southwest Conference  championship meet will be held, East Texas Baptist University participated in the Hardin-Simmons University track & field meet. ETBU had three athletes (two male, one female) place at the meet.

Cody Blankenship won the high jump clearing 1.98 meters (6’5”) in a field of five athletes.  Coming into the weekend he was tied for seventh in NCAA Division III in the high jump with a leap of 2.03 (6’8”) with four over athletes. 

Landon Price ran in the 5,000 meter run and placed sixth of seven runners with a time of 18:19.74. 

Megan Merrill was the women’s athlete in the 5,000 meter run finishing in 12th place (23:46).

ETBU will next compete at the ASC Championships in two weeks in Abilene.
