Tolopka Earns ETBU's First Tennis Award

RICHARDSON, Texas – Earning East Texas Baptist University’s first-ever post-season men's tennis award is freshman Tyler Tolopka.  Tolopka was voted as the American Southwest Conference’s East Division “Freshman of the Year.”

Tolopka finished the year a 8-13 in singles play and 6-13 in doubles competition as he helped ETBU to their first-ever program win and ASC win.  ETBU gained their first-ever win on February 23rd vs. Sul Ross State, 9-0.  They then gained two more wins over Louisiana College, 6-3, and Centenary, 9-0.

It is only the second year for the new program at ETBU as they continue to build up a program to compete for the ASC Championship under coach Joe Vann.
