Junior Mitchell

MARSHALL, Texas – The East Texas Baptist University athletic department announces the etbusports.com athletes of the week in Junior Mitchell and Mary Slaughter.  Both players had three games last week vs. LSU-Shreveport, Texas Lutheran, and Schreiner University.  This is the first award for the basketball season for athletes of the week.

Male Athlete of the Week: Junior Mitchell - Men's Basketball

Junior Mitchell – So. – Marshall, Texas – Cedar Valley College – Marshall HS

Mitchell averaged 15 points per game in three games played last week grabbing 5.7 rebounds per game.  He shot .455 from the floor and .778 from the free throw line (14-of-18).  Scoring a career-high 17 points vs. LSU-Shreveport, he shot .500 from the floor and had two steals.  He followed that with 16 points vs. Texas Lutheran and 12 points vs. Schreiner.  He went 8-of-12 from the free throw line vs. Texas Lutheran and had eight rebounds.
