Rucker, Davis Gain All-ASC Awards

RICHARDSON, Texas – Amanda Rucker and Jasmine Davis were awarded for their play in women’s basketball by the American Southwest Conference for the 2013-14 season this week.  Both Rucker and Davis were named to an all-conference team.

Rucker was voted onto the All-ASC third-team as this is her first All-ASC award.  She was named to the All-Freshman team in 2011-12 and was the player of the week once in 2012-13.  Averaging 11.6 points per game, she led the team in rebounding at 7.7 per game.  She shot .412 from the floor, .750 from the foul line, and recorded 11 blocks and 19 steals.  She also produced seven double-doubles on the year.  In the ASC, she was seventh in rebounding, 12th in free throw percentage, and 17th in scoring.

Davis, who played just one semester, had an outstanding 21 games and finished leading the team in scoring at 13.4 points per game while grabbing 7.5 rebounds per game.  She was voted her onto the honorable mention team and finished second in the ASC in blocks (51), was eighth in rebounding, ninth in field goal percentage (.509), and 13th in scoring. 

ETBU finished the year at 9-6 and just missed making the ASC Tournament.
